Fitness

Physical fitness is a general state of health and well-being, and more specifically, the ability to perform aspects or sport, occupations and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally achieved through correct nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical activity, exercise & rest.
Mental fitness is similarly a general state of health & well-being. It is just as important as physical fitness and shouldn’t be neglected. Mental fitness means keeping your brain and emotional health in tip-top shape, by daily exercises.

Belief

Belief is a state of mind in which a person thinks something to be the case, with or without there being visible evidence to prove that something is the case with factual certainty.

A mental representation of an attitude positively oriented towards the likelihood of something being true…..
“the man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can’t are both right”

Self-esteem

Self-esteem reflects a person’s overall subjective emotional evaluation of his or her own worth. It is a judgement of oneself as well as an attitude towards the self. Self-esteem encompasses beliefs (for example, “I am competent”, “I am worthy”.)
“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love”.

Motivation

Motivation is a term used to explain behaviour. It gives the reason for people’s actions, desires and needs. Motivation can also be defined as one’s direction to behaviour, or what causes a person to repeat a behaviour and vice versa. A motive is what prompts the person to act in a certain way.
“The driving force that makes you pursue your desires”.

Built In is a personal training business with a difference. Del and Abbie are advocates of internal self-development as well as external fitness and diet development. Their training is built on four foundations – self-esteem, belief, motivation and fitness.

“The idea of Built In developed as we were working as personal trainers. We saw people training in the gym with no aim, or lacking in confidence. We also saw people whose confidence relied only on aesthetics rather than internal self-esteem.”

The holistic approach of Del and Abbie works towards a solidly established sense of self-esteem, rather than one that relies on appearances alone.

The pair come from different backgrounds, and bring different strengths to the business. Del is originally from South London, and has a background in boxing, dance and strength conditioning. Abbie is an expert in helping those with obesity and diabetes, as well as working with pre/post natal clients
